Report by India Education bureau, Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education TO announce Class X examination results on April 30 but the toppers list would not be made public. This was informed by state Board of Secondary Education (BSE) president D P Nanda here .
Students under the state board wrote the matriculation exam papers between February 25 and March 9. The Board's decision to do away with the top 100 list has has shocked many students.
For the first time, the board introduced an answer-cum-question booklet in which there was dedicated space given under each question to write the answers. "It was mainly for this reason that the evaluation of answers was made easy and hence, we are able to publish the results in record time after completion of the exams on March 9," Nanda said, adding that as per the decision of the state government, the board would not announce the toppers' list this year.
It should be noted that nearly 5.32 lakh students wrote the examinations in the Regular stream and another 50,000 appeared in the Ex-Regular stream this year. Besides, a little over 5,000 students appeared in the Sanskrit stream called the Madhyama.
The Board has decided to hold the Supplementary examinations by the end of May or in the first week of June and declare the results in a month so that the students who would clear the Supplementary examinations could take admissions in Plus II immediately without losing a valuable year.
Students can access the results either purchasing a result booklet or through Internet and SMS. The results would be made public in the BSE office here and at five zonal offices. The students can access to their results from BSE’s official website (www.bseorissa.in)and the result booklets.
